I like to integrate creative play on a daily basis at Apple Sprouts Daycare. Play is a learning activity through which we first experience cooperation, risk and creativity to begin to discover the world around us.
Play brings together head, hand and heart. It is fundamental to each and every one of us. And although it may change as we mature, it never completely disappears from our lives.
My role is not of authority but to simply guide the children as they use the world around them to form a sense of themselves. I try to keep my daycare space very warm, welcoming and calming.
We have a multi purpose area simply equipped with a soft rug and many open ended toys to help encourage each child's imagination.
A child learns primarily through imitation. Apple Sprouts Daycare ensures that what surrounds the child is as worthy of imitation as possible. This will build the child's confidence and sense of self in the world. I make sure to put care in every station I set up.
We have a fully equipped play kitchen and seating area to accommodate the developing minds of each child (shown in pictures above and to the right).
Children are sensitive beings, and sometimes they just need to get away from the group and read a book or quietly reflect.
I have created a small space where children can go to read books or just have a cozy spot to themselves or with friends.
The space is equipped with many books, a comfy chair, cushions and padded seating. (shown in picture on left)
Outdoor time is the most important time for a child. Children need to be able to have plenty of room for freedom of movement and play while they are developing. At Apple Sprouts Daycare we have a spacious back yard with bushes and lots pf greenery. It is vital for children to surround themselves in natural surroundings. In nature, a child's imagination thrives.
Apple Sprouts Daycare recently had to shut it's doors due to being forced to relocate.
I am now offering Child minding and Nanny services for those in need of high quality care.
